ELMS concludes with Portugal round
After a year of highs and lows for Proton Competition, the 2025 European Le Mans Series draws to a conclusion at the 4 Hours of Portimão (16 to 18 October) on the sun-kissed Algarve coast. Michael and Christian Ried’s squad will be looking to put everything together for one final push to finish the championship on a high.
Past performances at the Algarve International Circuit certainly augur well ahead of the final weekend of the season. In fact, Proton Competition have finished on the top step of the podium no fewer than six times, and a further six top-3 finishes indicate that the team certainly know their way around the track.
Up at the head of the field, Jonas Ried, Macéo Capietto and Matteo Cairoli will be hoping to maximise their performance after a series of top-10 finishes in class. The trio will be piloting the #9 Oreca in the LMP2 category.
Giorgio Roda, Bent Viscaal and René Binder are among those who have tasted past success in Portimão. The trio, who will be racing the #77 Oreca, won here in the LMP2 Pro-Am class in 2024 and will be doing everything in their power to repeat their success in 2025.
In the LMGT3 class, new driver line-up for the last round at Silverstone remains unchanged ahead of the season finale: Matteo Cressoni, Horst Felbermayr and Horst Felix Felbermayr will once again be in the driving seat of the #60 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Unlike all other rounds of the season, the 4 Hours of Portimão takes place on Saturday afternoon. The later start will mean that the cars race into the twilight, with the sun setting just 20 minutes after the chequered flag. Fans can watch all the action live and for free on the ELMS YouTube channel.
