FIA WEC season-opener postponed

The first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, in which Proton Competition will be campaigning a pair of Ford Mustang LMGT3, has been officially postponed until later in the year. The Qatar 1812km was originally scheduled for 26 to 28 March at Lusail International Circuit.

The decision was taken by FIA WEC management citing ‘the current and evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East’. The 2026 FIA WEC season will now begin at the 6 Hours of Imola at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari on 17 to 19 April.
