Proton Huber Competition is still in the title race after the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland race weekend at the N\u00fcrburgring. Double victory in the rookie classification.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland kicked off the second half of the season at the N\u00fcrburgring. Proton Huber Competition fielded five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, driven by Robert de Haan, Marvin Klein, Sacha Norden, Joseph Warhurst, and Kai Pfister. The popular one-make series was held in front of an impressive crowd. Porsche also used the event to present the 2026 911 GT3 Cup to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the race weekend in the Eifel, the team regrettably ended its collaboration with regular driver Colin Jamie B\u00f6nighausen. „Unfortunately, Colin Jamie B\u00f6nighausen had to end his season before the N\u00fcrburgring for personal reasons, which we very much regret as our collaboration with him has been very positive. He performed well in the races so far. We wish him all the best for the future!“ said Ajla Vukovic, who heads the Proton Huber Competition program in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland with Michael Dirsch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert de Haan, who traveled to the Eifel as the championship leader, put in a strong performance in Friday evening’s qualifying. The fast Dutchman finished second in both segments. In the first race, de Haan was involved in some spectacular two-way and multi-car battles. As a result of the hard-fought duels, the 19-year-old had to take the penalty lap twice, but despite the time lost, he still managed to finish in a strong third place. Marvin Klein finished the race in fifth place, just a fraction behind his rival in front of him. Joe Warhurst came second in the rookie classification, while Kai Pfister missed out on a place on the Pro-Am podium by less than a second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, Robert de Haan had to start a comeback after being demoted to 17th place on the grid. The talented racer from Eerbeek quickly made up a few positions before his Porsche was damaged in a hard duel and he finished the race in eleventh place. The best driver for Proton Huber Competition was Frenchman Marvin Klein, who finished fifth, as he had done the day before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proton Huber Competition celebrated a double victory in the rookie classification. On the traditional circuit in the Eifel, the fast Briton Joe Warhurst drove to his second class victory and finished the race in a strong ninth place overall. Sacha Norden took second place in the sub-classification, the fast newcomer. Kai Pfister finished the second race in fifth place in the Pro-Am class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„We were able to score important points over the weekend and Robert de Haan is still in a good position in the title fight, which was our main goal going into the weekend. We are also very pleased that Joe Warhurst won the rookie classification on Sunday and also achieved a strong result in the class on Saturday. We are now working hard to ensure that we can continue the title fight with top performances at the Sachsenring in two weeks‘ time,“ concluded Vukovic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the race weekend at the N\u00fcrburgring, Robert de Haan is tied for second place in the overall standings with the championship leader. In the remaining six races, the driver and the team from Hofkirchen in Bavaria will work hard to secure the title in the popular one-make series. Thanks to a strong team performance in the Eifel, Proton Huber Competition regained the lead in the team standings at the N\u00fcrburgring. Sacha Norden continues to lead the rookie standings ahead of his British teammate Warhurst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
