The 2025\/26 Asian Le Mans Series drew to a conclusion at the weekend (7 to 8 February) with a pair of four-hour races against the impressive backdrop of the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. For Proton Competition, the aim was to finish the winter season on a high.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finish on a high is certainly what the #77 Porsche 911 GT3 R crew of Bankcy, Harry King and Huub van Eijndhoven did. Thanks to some clean driving and smart strategy in an incident-packed race, the trio scored an eighth-place finish in Sunday\u2019s 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi. The result underscored the positive trajectory of the GT3 squad, who were racing for Proton Competition for the first time in this Asian Le Mans Series campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the LMP2 category, Horst Felbermayr Jr., Horst Felix Felbermayr and Lorenzo Flux\u00e1 recorded a strong top-10 finish on Saturday. Running as high as third after excellent stints from the Austrians, Flux\u00e1 crossed the line in seventh place for a solid points haul for the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the #22 Oreca 07 crew of Stefan Aust, Jonas Ried and Felipe Laser, fortune was not on their side at Yas Marina Circuit. With few interruptions or incidents on Saturday, there was limited scope for strategic variation, while the trio\u2019s prospects on Sunday were undone by unfortunate safety car timing.

\u201cIt was a challenging season in the Asian Le Mans Series, but our results don\u2019t fully reflect the level of performance we showed,\u201d said Christian Ried. \u201cWith a bit more luck along the way, we had the potential to be fighting for podium finishes.\u201d

The next challenge for Christian and Michael Ried\u2019s team is the season-opener of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Qatar 1812km on the weekend of 26 to 28 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
