Proton Competition aiming for more success as ELMS resumes in Imola

Proton Competition heads to Italy this weekend for the third round of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (3 to 5 July), with the 4 Hours of Imola offering another opportunity for the German squad to build on an encouraging start to the campaign.
 
Following a class victory for the #75 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the season-opening race at Barcelona, Proton Competition arrives at the iconic Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari determined to maintain its challenge across the LMGT3, LMP2 and LMP2 Pro-Am categories. The team currently sits firmly in contention in the LMGT3 championship after its impressive opening performances.
 
The #75 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Matt Kurzejewski, Richard Lietz and Tom Sargent will be aiming to return to the podium after their commanding victory in Spain established them as one of the crews to beat in the highly competitive LMGT3 field.
 
Meanwhile, there will be a change in personnel in the #77 Porsche 911 GT3 R, as Australian driver Martin Berry steps in to replace Bankcy. Berry will be joined by Huub van Eijndhoven and Harry King, who have both demonstrated impressive pace so far this season, including the fastest lap in class at Barcelona.
 
In the prototype ranks, Proton Competition will once again field its Oreca 07 entries in both LMP2 and LMP2 Pro-Am. The team has shown encouraging speed throughout the opening rounds and will be looking to convert that pace into strong championship points on one of Europe’s most demanding but also picturesque circuits.
 
Competing for overall honours in the top category, LMP2, will be Jonas Ried, Sebastian Priaulx and Mike Rockenfeller in the #9 Oreca, while Austrians Horst Felbermayr Jr., Horst Felix Felbermayr and René Binder will be targeting success in the LMP2 Pro-Am class in the #88 machine.
